I have been a practicing Licensed Clinical Social Worker for close to 30 years. My expertise is in infertility and reproductive counseling and in the field of family building. My goal is to help individuals and couples cope with the challenges of infertility and explore alternative family building options including assisted reproduction (surrogacy, egg, sperm, or embryo donation), adoption, or child free living.

Another specialized focus of my practice is providing therapy and support to transgender and non-binary people during any part(s) of their transition. This also often necessitates guiding families to better understand and support their loved one.

I also focus on helping people cope with common, yet difficult parts of life including depression and anxiety, grief and loss, relational conflict, and life transitions.

I practice from an attachment-based lens and a gender affirming model, to help you better relate to yourself and others. My style is collaborative and engaged. I can help you improve how you manage stress and challenges to make meaningful changes in your life.

Previous Experience

 

For 15 years, I was the Director of Programs for Southern California Foster Family and Adoption Agency (SCFFAA), one of the first agencies in California to serve the LGBTQAI+ community. In 2008, I was presented with the Adoption Excellence Award from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Children's Bureau for my “individual and professional contribution to the furtherance of adoption of children in foster care.” I was chosen to receive the Adoption Activist Award from the North American Council on Adoptable Children (NACAC) in August of 2015. Following my time at SCFFAA, I established the foster family program and adoption agency at Korean American Family Services (KFAM). I have been licensed as an Adoption Service Provider in the state of California for over 20 years.
